Losing it…. a new milestone..almost…



It's been a week of 24/7 (almost) work with some major deadlines… so I will keep this short. 🙂

I'm still letting God work on my heart and
mind in regards to eating.  I am FORCING myself to think about eating
before I eat.  To only eat when I am hungry and to choose wisely. IT's working…

I've still worked out at the end of
the day this week and IT IS WORKING BIG TIME.  I have done Couch to 5K three days
this week and hit the elliptical for 2 miles on Tuesday.. still have the weekend to get through.. but!  It's working!  Even in the midst of this insane week.. I have only missed my work out once..( I was helping to write a grant.. and missed my window..but it was worth it.)

Check in
on the goals:

  • Work out at least 4 times a week (elliptical, bike, treadmill) –
    Couchto5K (x3) and elliptical (x2)
  • Weight Watchers online.  Starting to really grove with keeping track..
  • No more soda. 
  • Slowly start cutting back on sweets/carbs. Yep… but I did account for a glorious trip to 5guys this week with our team…
  • End of week 2 on the iPhone app Couch to 5K.
  • Drink 1 gallon of water a day. 🙂 wooty woot. I LOVE CRYSTAL LITE!!!

I've just completed week 4, I have lost a total of 9.5
pounds.. it equals 3.86% of my weight almost the 10 pound milestone…. 
and I am grateful!

  1. I am so stinkin proud of you!!!!!!!!!!!! I've only been able to do very ligt workouts this week cause of this stinkin ear infection that will.not.die. But I had a pretty good week too! We ARE doin this thing!

  3. Woo hoo! You go girl! I’m very happy for you and your results so far! I also agree (with your reply above) that knowing I’m accountable on Friday has inspired me to press on. My life is calm right now so I have no “crazy week advice” for you. I left my job 2 years ago and had all these grand plans about losing weight and working-out. So finally 2 years later, I’m getting off “my duff” and actually doing it. lol
    I also love that you used the word “grateful” because that’s what I have in my post this week too. Keep up the good work and see you next week!

  4. 9.5 pounds! That’s awesome! I used to to WW online and it was a great tool. It sounds like you are on the ball with exercise too. I really have to work hard at making it a priority or else I’ll let other stuff convince me I don’t have time for it.
    I just got back from going to a friends house and had two pieces of fudge cake!! Can you say ” 1 step forward, two steps back”? lol

  5. Dedra!! You are doing GREAT! And I love HOW you’re doing it, the GREAT attitude/focus you have. You are definitely keeping me inspired.
    But oh, Five Guys. I love that place – and it is SO bad!!! 🙂
    I think I need to cut out soda, too. I’ve never been a huge pop drinker, but I’ve had more lately. I think I’d be better off to just go without for a while.

  6. Girl… it’s not about denying ourselves the pleasure of chocolate.. it’s knowing that if we do partake that it should be accounted for. Grace and mercy are new every day.. and you are doing fabulous.. Keep it up!

  7. Thanks for starting this whole contest.. it is not about the prizes (forgot what they were) anymore. It is about the friendships and accountability as we do this thing together. 🙂 SO Thank YOU! Five Guys is bad.. but not if you write it down and portion control. I actually stayed under my points that day! 😉 I just love you.. that is all.
