one more week down….

It’s been an odd week and next week will likely be the same.  My girls turned 17 on Monday and we started this week off with lots of celebrating… and it was yummy! 🙂

My son celebrates his last day of high school today and graduation is next Thursday.. 🙂  I’m sure there will be more celebrating to be done as well. 🙂

My attitude is one of perseverance these next two weeks, living in the moment and celebrating.. while running as much as possible!  BUT, here is the update!

Here are my goals as I continue on.. I’ll have to figure out a new button for our weight loss journey now…

  • Work out at least 6 times a week – I have figured out over these 11 weeks that working out a few times a week just won’t cut it anymore.
So.. I will be running every day and/or walking/elliptical.  The weight won’t come off unless I am pushing…as proven again this week.  I ran 3
miles twice this week, ran 1 mile at 5mph and 2.58 miles yesterday before shin splints hit.  Love those new shoes! 🙂
  • Weight Watchers online. Good old faithful and dependable and easy WW online.  I love it.  It keeps me focused on what I am putting in my
mouth and holds me accountable.  It also has really, really great recipes and tips.
  • Still no more soda and I have cut back on my caffeine.  I’m going to continue to mix it up in the weeks to come.
  • I am loving Advocare’s awesome products.. thanks to my cousin Sarah Allen.  She rocks if you want to join me. I love the products so much that I joined to get the discounts and have graduated to the trim products.  Can’t say enough good things about them.  My friend, Stephanie is also a distributor.. so if you know her, send her a message.  The story of the road to health for her family is awesome!

I’ve just completed week 12, I have lost a total of 27 pounds.. it equals 11.76% of my weight.  I’ve lost a total of 15 inches as well.  (Thank you Sarah Allen and Advocare… booyah!)

I must admit that it’s been a hard week emotionally.  I’m in between sizes and feeling like weight isn’t coming off fast enough now.. (please don’t comment that I am crazy.. or OCD… I totally get the weirdness of that comment).. but I am sure it’s a plateau and am seeking His direction on emotional outlets.  The other hard part.. even after alterations.. the dress I wanted to wear on Sunday, for Senior Sunday?  Still way too big.  Doesn’t matter what I wear..it matters that I am there.  Keeping it real and in perspective, but going shopping anyway. :0)

Share you favorite quote or scripture to keep you focused on the goal.. I could use some encouragement.. 🙂

  1. Not that you are not already doing this, but I read this just this morning and thought I would share… Have a BLESSED weekend!! Susan Crittenden
    Romans 12 1-2 (The Message)
So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

  2. What an emotional week! I’m just dealing with end of school stuff, and that’s almost overwhelming!
27 pounds is pretty awesome. Like seriously awesome. I understand you wanting to lose it faster though. You want it done. You want to be able to check it off your list as completed. The problem is that healthy weight loss takes time. Keep going girl – you’re doing GREAT!
Oh, and I working on a button – seriously.

  3. It sounds like you have a lot to celebrate (birthdays and graduation). Enjoy the happy times!
Proverbs 16:3 – Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. (NIV)
Take care and I’ll check in next week 🙂
