Fresh starts

Welcome to the new JustaChick!

I am so excited about my new home and design!! I want to thank my friend, Melissa Carlson for her hard work and help with the design & flow and for the countless hours she’s spent talking me through all the changes.  She’s one of the most creative chicks I have the pleasure of calling friend.  I had images in my head, but her mad skillz are what put it all into motion.  (more love from her later.. but be sure to check out her blog design site and shop)

Fresh starts are so grand!  I’ve been going through lots of changes in my life lately and was feeling in a quite a rut.  Have you ever gone through lots of changes all at once and the way you have managed life just stops working?

Well, that would be moi’ lately.  I was itching to have a different voice and a different look and direction for my space in this wonderful online world.  So JustaChick is now home to fresh starts!  One of my favorite scriptures is all about grace:

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”  2 Corinthians 12:9

So get ready for some authentic sharing from me.  I’m looking forward to letting you in on the sufficiency of His grace, not to mention all the many weaknesses…and what’s on my heart.  I’m ready to start celebrating all of it and having you along for the ride will be even better!

SO.. in the coming days, I will be writing about the freshness going on in chick land and introducing you to some of my favorite chicks. I am grateful that they are joining me in celebrating my new home and they come bearing fun give-away surprises!

On the right hand side over there

there are ways for you to follow me and subscribe to JustaChick.  I hope you do! I’ll be taking down my other blog site shortly… another financial fresh start!  Be sure to add me to your favorite reader or to your in-box.  You will want to comment on the daily ramblings in order to partake in the goodness of the give-away.  They are so creative and yummy.  So exciting!  I’ll use a random generator (to keep it all even steven) and will announce the winner the next morning bright and early!

Well!  Let’s get this party started.  Again, let me introduce you to my dear friend, Melissa Carlson.  She’s kind, creative, loving and wise beyond what she will admit to.  She’d rather create and give more than write.. and is stinkin’ hilarious.  Our friendship is one of those on-line become IRL treasured deals.  Neither of us thinks too much of ripping the road between Madison and Nashville to get some fun girl time in.  I am beyond grateful that she had lunch with me at PF Changs one glorious afternoon.  One of the things I love most about her?  She can see past the junk and right into my heart.

She’s giving away a $25.00 gift certificate to her design shop or design services.  Look at all the yummy creativity!

All you have to do to have a chance to partake in the creativeness is leave me a comment and answer this chick’s question…

If you could partner with Him in a fresh start in any area of your life, which area would it be?

Tomorrow, I’m going to let you in on the changes and the fresh starts He’s providing in my friendships.  I can’t wait to hear from you!  Thanks for stopping by and celebrating with me.

  1. I love you and your new place is de-lovely! Cannot wait to come back for more. You are BOTH treasures to me. If I could start fresh on something in would be time organization. I need me some.

    Love you!

    1. Thanks friend! I'm so grateful. I hear ya on the time organization. I have to persevere and use Google calendar for everything. Not to mention writing everything down!!

    1. Thanks for stopping by Kelly! Purging and simplifying are keys to organization. With tons of kids.. I learned to be sentimental over just a few things. Clutter drives me batty!

  2. Absolutely love it!!!! Right now…..I need some more quality time with Jesus. Plain and simple. Not giving him my best. Anyway….love the look and so proud of all you are doing! ((hugs)) and blessings!

    1. Thanks Fran! I would love to be able to have a couple of hours every day with Him. I'm feeling like He is calling me to fast from a few things in order to make that happen. I am so grateful that He knows the desires of our hearts.

  3. I love your new site! It's beautiful. I've been going through some fresh starts on my own lately. God is teaching me so much it's overwhelming at times. You can check a lot of it out on my blog. I've written about grace also as well as opening yourself up to truly connect with friends. For me this time in my life is all about knowing God's presence.

    1. Thanks Amy! Melissa is so awesome… and I love the whole self-hosted aspect. So flexible. I can't wait to check out your blog! It is very overwhelming when He is teaching us a ton of things… but then the feeling of gratefulness overrides it for me. Just to be used by Him. Nothing better.

  4. Just found your blog! I love it! I could use a fresh start in my relationship with God. Sounds big, but that's what I need the most…to get to know my God more intimately.
    I'll be following!

    1. Welcome Amy! So glad you stopped by. Nothing is too big for God and He’s so excited that you are desiring more of Him. Hope to see more of you!

  5. Yow-za. Love it! That Mel…she rocks, doesn't she? And so do you!

So new, fresh ways…I think I just posted it over on the Twitter. My quiet time this week is going to include a discussion with Him about reintroducing me to my creative side and using it for Him and for His Kingdom. Wow…that was easier to type this time, lol. There you have it. Again.

I love you and can't wait to hug you…

    Sooz

    1. I've already been praying that over you today girl! That He will ignite some creativity in you and push you to action.. How's that for all up in your biz? I love you and am hugging my screen….

  6. Beautiful! I could really use a fresh start in life management. How to deal with the little life stuff without getting so bogged down and overwhelmed that the BIG stuff gets pushed aside…you know?

    1. Hey Jeni! Thanks for stopping by. I can totally relate to feeling overwhelmed with the little stuff that nags at you and how the BIG stuff just sneaks up on you…. totally. Try praying every morning that He would direct your to-do list and that yours would fully align with His. I started praying that years ago and He has yet to give me a boring and predictable day! 😉

  7. Looks so good! Even better on the computer than on the phone! Congratulations!

If I could have a fresh start, it would be in my time management. I would get caught up on everything I need to do and start afresh. Going on a cruise in two weeks, and have SO much to do before I leave town!

    1. Congrats on the winning comment girl! Cruise? So much to do? Wow… exciting and overwhelming all at the same time! Take a deep breath and just do the next thing!

  8. BEAUTIFUL!!! I love this girl! That Melissa has got the talent all bottled up in her cute self doesn't she 🙂
This will be fun to come to everyday…or if you are like me..every so often!
    Enjoy!!

  9. This looks GREAT! I am loving the new look. Melissa rocks!

My answer to the question,,, Bible Study! I just want to totally soak up ALL of his word. For someone who'd been a Christian for so long, I've been lacking in this area for stinkin' ever. I'm so overwhelmed by all the studies I want to do & books I want to read & and YouTube sermons I want to watch… well, I can't even get started!

    1. Sistah… if you only knew how much I would love to do nothing else but study His Word… but alas, college tuitions must be paid.. 🙂 So I take what I can get and pray an extra portion of His time will reign down… We'll have to plan on meeting up for Secret Church together in November.. wouldn't that be a blast?
