why safer beauty and skin care

I’ve been asking myself a re-occurring question about three areas of my life over the last year that I just can’t seem to gain traction in.  What were other people doing that allowed that success in their lives?  How can I make small, incremental and lasting changes to my life? So I started reading, researching and looking at other people in my life that I trust and respect.  How are they doing? What’s better for them? What are they doing that helps them to move forward?  In essence, geeking out. I made a decision this spring that’s been pivotal to my current growth.  I’m done.  I’m done living the way I’ve been living.  DONE.  Not going to do it any longer.  DONE.  (okay, I’m stopping now)

I was watching my friend Anna share about a line of safer personal care products. She was sharing that the United States has not passed a major federal law to regulate the safety of ingredients used in personal care products since 1938.

Over the past two decades, the European Union has banned more than 1,300 chemicals in the product formulas of personal care products and restricted the levels of over 250 more in such products. The United States has only partially banned 30 to date.

I had no idea.  I’ve been so ignorant.. and so unaware. I reached out.. ordered the Nourishing line and within one week, I saw a huge difference in my skin’s appearance.  Hooked.  COMPLETELY.  I jumped all in.

Over the next few months, I want to share all that I have been learning and encourage all five of you reading this to take action and choose safer products not only for yourself but for your family.  I can’t say enough good things about Beautycounter and it’s mission. I’m grateful to be part of it.
